Letterkenny Army Depot not hosting Armed Forces Day events
Cemetery tour and POW/MIA Service at Letterkenny Chapel will continue
LETTERKENNY ARMY DEPOT, Chambersburg, Pa.— Letterkenny Army Depot, like other Department of Defense installations, has increased its force protection posture. As a result, the Depot is not able to host any Armed Forces Day activities.
The Depot will offer a tour of the cemetery sites located within the current Letterkenny Munitions Center on Friday, May 20, 2016. The tour is scheduled from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. and will begin from the parking lot in front of the Letterkenny Army Depot Headquarters. Advanced registration for the cemetery tour is required by contacting the Letterkenny Public Affairs Office no later than Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at 717-267-9741 or 717-267-5482.
Space is limited and no one under the age of 18 years old will be permitted on the tour. Persons wishing to participate in the tour must be willing to provide personal identification information at the time of registration in order to be processed through the Depot's Security system.
Cemetery sites include: Besore Family, Schlichter Family, Pleasant Hill Brethren-in-Christ Church, Boyer Farm Family, Pleasant Hill Mennonite Church, Upper Strasburg Mennonite Church, Old Order York Brethren, Zion Lutheran and the German Reformed Church.
The Greater Chambersburg Churches’ POW/MIA service in the Letterkenny Chapel will continue as scheduled for 11:00 a.m. May 21, 2016. The point of contact for the service is Mr. Paul Culliane, 717-830-0425.
