Biography

Colonel Caleb Lewis assumed command of Letterkenny Army Depot on July 10, 2025.

As the commander, he oversees LEAD as the premier professional organization in Air, Missile and precision fires systems, dedicated to emerging technologies and best business practices that transform the ability of the Army, Allies and business partners to provide military superiority.

He directs more than 1,500 personnel who repair and modernize Air and Missile Defense and precision fires systems to enable multi-domain operations for U.S. and Allied Forces.

Col. Lewis is a native of Canandaigua, New York, and commissioned from Colorado State University in 2002. He has served in command and staff positions in the United States, Afghanistan, Iraq, and the Netherlands.

His previous assignments include: Army Materiel Command Liaison to the Pentagon, Washington, D.C.; Commander, 73rd Ordnance Battalion, Eglin Air Force Base, Florida; Deputy Director, Afghan Focus Group, and Counter IED cell chief, NATO, Joint Forces Command Brunssum, Netherlands; Commander, 21st Ordnance Company Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) specializing in Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD), Kirtland Air

Colonel Lewis holds a Bachelor of Science in Anthropology from Colorado State University, a Master of Arts in International Relations from Webster University, and a Master of Arts in Strategic Studies from the Army War College. His military education includes the Ordnance Officer Basic Course; the Combined Logistics Captain’s Career Course; Naval School Explosive Ordnance Disposal; the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College; and the Army War College.

Awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal (1 Oak Leaf Cluster), Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (4 OLC), Army Commendation Medal (1 OLC), Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal (1 campaign star), the Iraq Campaign Medal (4 campaign stars), the Global War on Terrorism (GWOT) Expeditionary Medal, the GWOT Service Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon (5), the NATO Meritorious Service Medal, and the NATO Medal.
